1959 Raleigh RM1C 49cc
Priced at £400. This rare survivor from the early years of the moped was Raleigh's early attempt at producing such a machine. In 1960 Ralegh then went on to sign a deal with Motobecane to produce the French mopeds under licence using the Raleigh name. This particular Raleigh is the second model they developed following the customers requests for a clutch to be fitted! This particular example is being offered as a total project, needing full refurbishment/restoration. This bike offers a cheap entrance into the classic moped scene, which has a good following, both in this country & abroad. We now have a current DVLA V5C registration document. The moped qualifies for free road tax under the 'Historic Vehicle' class & is MOT exempt.
