1965 Norton Electra 400cc

SOLD What a fantastic time capsule! This matching numbers bike has been dormant for a very long time, possibly almost 60 years if that tax disc is anything to go by. These were the first electric start bikes in th UK. This bike looks to have been last on the road in Bedfordshire in 1967. Could that also be the original mileage of 6667 on the speedometer? The fuel tank even still has some petrol inside, was this added in the swinging 60's? The bike is a non running project which will require the next owner to rebuild, the engine turns over but the cylinder head is just loosely placed on and the push rods along with some other internal parts are in a box of bits which comes as part of the purchase. The inside of the fuel tank looks to be reasonably solid and a look over the spare parts and the bike indicates that it is complete but will need stripping down and re assembling. The registration number has lapsed on the DVLA.
