1954 DKW RT125 125cc
Priced at SOLD. First registered in Berkshire on the 16th of December 1954 to Esso, believed to have been used by them for two stroke research. In 1958 Esso sold the bike off for normal use & it appears that the bike has only had three owners since, the last two being related. The DKW RT125 is the bike that was the basis for a lot of post war copies, like the BSA Bantam, Harley - Davidson Hummer, Balkan, as well as various Soviet clones. We have cleaned out the petrol tank, fitted another petrol tap, spark plug & a new battery. The DKW now starts well & a yard test showed the bike charges & the speedometer works. This particular example has its original buff logbook, giving early history, as well as two earlier V5C documents. Comes with the latest DVLA V5C registration document, is registered under the 'Historic Vehicle' class for free road tax & benefits from being MOT exempt.
