Withdrawn from sale & returned to owner. First registered in East Suffolk on the 6th of September 1960, this machine has the correct matching frame & engine numbers, & has spent it's entire life in this area. We are very pleased to be able to offer a motorcycle of this calibre on behalf of the elderly owner, who is now finding it a little cumbersome to move around. He originally bought the bike for £10 circa 1980 from Lowestoft. He has advised us that following purchase he completely rebuilt the Leader using new old stock parts (nothing pattern used) including a new 8 day clock & most body panels; putting it back on the road in 1987. Since that time the bike has covered approximately five thousand miles. Over the years the odometer was not functioning correctly & just been repaired before coming to us. Comes with a selection of past MOT's, the original buff cardboard logbook, older V5 documents, the latest DVLA V5C registration document, is registered under the 'Historic Vehicle' for free road tax & is MOT'ed until 11/04/2018. Also comes with an original Ariel workshop manual, parts book & owners handbook. It is also noted that this Ariel Leader comes with period factory extras - panniers, indicators, parking light, mirrors, windscreen extension, rear bumper bar.
